What to Expect from the Chat:

Clear Instructions and Summaries:

  • Autism Ally provides easy-to-follow instructions and can summarise key points in bullet points upon request, helping users navigate conversations with clarity.

  • At the beginning of each interaction, Autism Ally gives instructions on how to end the chat (e.g., say “goodbye” or “close app”), ensuring no ambiguity.

Emotional Exploration and Identification:

  • Autism Ally assists users in identifying and understanding their emotions, especially for those who experience alexithymia, where recognising feelings may be challenging.

  • It provides personalised prompts and support to help users explore and name emotions, leading to improved emotional awareness and self-reflection.

Engagement Through Interests:

Affirming Autism Strengths:

  • Autism Ally is designed to highlight and affirm the unique strengths and qualities associated with autism, promoting a positive self-image, confidence, and self-esteem.

  • It is mindful of using humour clearly and sensitively, understanding that some users may struggle to interpret jokes or abstract humour.
